About Us

Advocacy

The State Soil Health Policy Map serves as an inspiration, guide, and connective network for soil health advocates and state legislators across the country.

One Stop Shop for Soil Health Policy

This website aims to:

  • Maintain an updated Soil Health Policy Map
  • Track new and existing soil health policies and programs in 50 states.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of all healthy soils programs across the U.S.
  • Act as a library of state-by-state information including supporting organizations and additional resources.

Empowerment

Advocates and decision-makers can explore the resources on this site and use them to champion successful soil health programing that addresses needs and opportunities specific to their state.

Enacting soil health policies can lead to diverse funding streams for including state and federal grant funding.

Healthy soils benefit communities and the agriculturalists that provide for them. Healthy soils can lead to crop and soil resilience to extreme weather events such as flood and drought, as well as improve local air and water quality.

As a collaborative and “living” site, this map is updated by volunteers as policy is conceived, created, and moves forward. If you have any information that would help us provide more information or context, please visit the “Provide Feedback” button.
